... I'll be honest, I didn't know when the next issue would hit or if the series would disappear. Blessedly, I'm well done with my first semester of grad school and more than prepared to reread the whole series in preparation for this issue. I am most excited.
Hmmmm... it seems like book 2 might end up focused on building a supporting cast for Heavenside. Today, we met the intrepid detective, got more Cannon & Stoker - and absolutely no Doktor or even Sarah Berlin.

Sweet Jesus!
It'll be a merry Xmas after all!
Don't the cover look like Nurse has taken out a whole bunch of Grinders? And is the Dok having another 'episode'? And are the covers telling a story we aren't seeing in the actual book?
It was a pretty decent issue, although without the Doktor it does not inspire cackling laughter while being read. At least we know Nurse Igor is still around but now with green hair? (a strange cameo) Anyway, seeing the internals of the police force is intriguing. It will be very interesting to seeto where this arc leads the story.
The local comic shop only had the regular cover version which is unfortunate since the wrap covers are pretty much the best covers of all comic-dom. The regular cover would be better if it at least represented something within the issue.
You local pusher can re-order the wrap cover: JUN083712 DOKTOR SLEEPLESS #10 WRAP CVR (MR)
They choose what they want to order (exception being the "Warning Signs" variant, as they have to order so many copies in to order one), so they either didn't order any, or went of out stock immediately.
Good, but not great, issue I thought. Liking the build-up of the secondary (?) cast. Clearly Warren's been watching The Wire - no bad thing! Stoker continues to be a nasty presence, it's no shock that he'd let Cannon out to kill DS.
Suspect Berlin and Det. Singer could team up in some way, maybe with Sing also.
I was thinking more like THE SHIELD, and not the WIRE, in terms of characters. Course I can't really comment on the WIRE - I haven't watched it.
As for Berlin and Singer teaming up with Sing, I'm not sure on that one. Detective Singer is old school Heavenside, she knows how things really work. She'd really have to break the mold to go against the grain (plus, Stoker does know about her and her family - people do whatever it takes to protect their family). I can see her leaking info, but not helping anyone straight out.
Sing and Berlin is also iffy for me. Berlin could think she really is a wack job and not be interested in helping at all. Now if Berlin does become interested, she does have vast amounts of information and resources are her disposal. Her using those may or may not be a good thing though. Data can easily be corrupted.

I hope I'm not being too obvious (well, I'm sure I am) so we have Sing and Singer and there seems to be a somewhat passing resemblance (I could totally be wrong on this however). So is there some kind of connection between them or is Sing and Singer just a coincidence?
